What this is
Shadow Work is a wellness and self-development tool. It is not therapy, not medical care, and not a substitute for professional help. Nothing here diagnoses, treats, or cures.
The data you create
What you write here is mental-health-adjacent personal data — among the most sensitive categories there is. We treat it that way:
- Your reflections are encrypted at rest.
- They are never used to train any AI model.
- They are never sold and never shared for advertising.
- We collect the minimum needed to run the program — no analytics on the content of your reflections.
The guide
The responses you receive are generated by an AI (Anthropic’s Claude). Your reflection is sent to generate that single response and to maintain your private pattern memory. A safety check runs on every entry; if it detects acute distress, the program steps back and points you toward real human help rather than continuing the exercise.
Signing in
We use your email address for two things: to give you access to the program you purchased, and to send you a one-time sign-in link each time you log in. That’s it — we don’t use your email for marketing, and we don’t share or sell it.
Sign-in security log
To help keep your account safe, we keep a short record of successful sign-ins. For each one we store your email, the time you signed in, your IP address, and your browser’s user-agent. We use this only to spot suspicious activity on your account — for example, a login you didn’t make. It is never used for advertising or profiling.
Why we’re allowed to: keeping your account secure is our legitimate interest; using your email to give you access is part of performing our agreement with you.
How long we keep it: these sign-in records are automatically deleted after 90 days.
Your rights
You can export everything you have written at any time, and you can permanently delete your account and all of your data, irreversibly, whenever you choose — from your account page.
Beyond your reflections, you have the right to access, correct, or delete the other personal data we hold about you (your email address and your sign-in log). To make any of these requests, email us at support@shadowandpath.com and we’ll act on it.
Payment
The program is a one-time purchase processed by our payment provider, which acts as the merchant of record. We never see or store your card details.
